Five Things Friday

Hmmm.. been a while since I've done one but here we go.

My 5 favorite things of the moment... :)

1. My boyfriend. I don't want to be "cheesy" or "cute" but man. I love him. And he loves me. :)

He's gone until August 25th and I'm going to miss him like crazy but thinking about our reunion makes it worth it (and getting to visit him in July!).

2. Weddings. I'll be honest, I've never been one of those girls who has had their wedding planned since they were five years old. To be honest, I never even THOUGHT about my own wedding (not anytime soon, I assure you!) until Pinterest came along (you know you do it too!) but my cousin's wedding last weekend was pretty awesome. Okay... well, maybe not the wedding so much (although it was good) but the reception was so, so, SO much fun! Open bar, family, boyfriend, good music--it doesn't get much better than that.

3. Chocolate Tortilla Chips. I've been OBSESSED with Food That Tastes Good chocolate tortilla chips since I first found them at Whole Foods in Louisville a couple of years ago! They're so good! Sweet & Salty = the perfect combo! You better believe when I was in Charlottesville seeing Peter off that I stopped by Whole Foods and picked up a bag..... or four.

4. WORKING OUT! I've seriously slacked in the last week since I've been out of town and busy pretty much the entire time (although I did find creative ways to get some exercise in!) so it's time to get back on track! I've already got a workout scheduled for tonight and two for tomorrow morning. Plus, next week starts Insanity + my summer workout plan from KJ! If Peter is going to come back ripped from camp then by gosh I'm going to be ripped too. ;)

5. Weekend by the pool. What's the best remedy for your boyfriend leaving for the summer? Spending a weekend by the pool with your best friends. Do I wish he was here? You better believe it. But you know what? I can do this. :)

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Five Things Friday

First of all before I begin, let me start by saying...

This week hasn't been particularly long or trying for that matter but the weather?! It's been amazing and will continue to be amazing throughout the weekend. HELLO POOL.

Enough rambling, on to the "good" stuff. (ha)

1. Peter's Graduating tomorrow! I'm a very proud girlfriend fo' sho. He's not terribly excited about the actual "walking" part but I know that'll change come tomorrow. I absolutely LOVED my own graduation and hope he does the same. And plus, it's an excuse to CELEBRATE! I get to meet the rest of his family tomorrow too (minus his brother!).... uhhhhhh....... I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not nervous at all.............. -___-

2. O.M.GLEEEEEEEE. (that was probably the cheesiest thing I've ever written on this blog.. period.) I finally caught up on Glee (I was a few episodes behind!) and this week's episodes were freaking fantastic. Seriously. I may or may not have shed a tear. I'm totally wrecking my persona as a bad ass one word at a time.

3. Moving Sucks. And I haven't even started yet. In the past 6 years, I've moved 6 times. In and out of a dorm room 4 times, and in and out of an apartments twice. BLAHHHHH. My roommate and I are currently on the hunt for a new place since our third roommate totally decided to be selfish and go off to grad school and leave us behind. What a bitch. (KIDDING! :)) I'll keep you updated on the progress.

4. Elton John is coming within an hour of my hometown. Uhhh.... not to completely ruin my reputation but... umm.... I kind of LOVE Elton John. No shame in my game. I've been known to sing a mean "Bennie & the Jets" back in the day. I may have to fork over the dough for that one.

5. 90's Pandora still completely rocks my world. Don't hate. I've officially declared today as "Throwback Friday" and will proceed to listen to 90s music until my ears are bleeding and I no longer fantasize about marrying Justin Timberlake in his *nsync heyday. Not weird at all.

Alright kids. Have a great weekend!

Five Things Friday

God. I'm terrible at writing an actual post. Sometimes it's much easier to write random things going on in my life. Sue me.

So with that rant, let's begin.

1. TODAY = LAST DAY OF CLASSES! Whew. I made it my first full semester in my *new* (well, semi-new now I suppose) job! I don't even want to begin talking about all of the mistakes that were made and agents I frustrated with my lack of knowledge but it's been a great learning experience. And as many tears that were shed, in the end, I still LOVE my job. How many people can say that?

2. I'm running a 5K tomorrow. Have I trained for it? No. Have I ran in 3 months? No. Am I sick? Yes. Will I suffer terribly tomorrow morning? OH YEAH. My attitude? Bring it. I'm kind of marking tomorrow as the "unofficial" start to my half-marathon training. I need to get motivated to start my regular running routine again and what better way than signing up for a race, right? RIIIIIIIGHT. I'll just keep telling myself that. For those that don't know, I love running. Really... I do. But here lately I've loved strength training and cardio classes and boot camp waaaaay more. And to be honest, this is the fittest I've been... well, ever. BUT that being said, I need a lofty goal and something to do this summer while Peter is away so why not train for the longest race of my life? Let's do it.

Peter might disagree with this.. ha.
3. Speaking of Peter, I really like our adventures. Well, I like to deem them adventures... he probably refers to them as "Oh god, what is she making me do now?". ha. ;) Last weekend we helped my parents mulch (okay, maybe that's more like manual labor) and then did a little bit of hiking. I always like to stay active on the weekends and drag him along with me (deep down I know he's thrilled.... ;)) This weekend our plans include his fraternity formal, laying out by the pool and RELAXING (hopefully!), and an as-yet-to-be determined activity for Sunday.. and you better believe it'll be fitness related. :)

4. IT'S DERBY WEEKEND! You can generally only reallllly appreciate this if you're a Kentuckian.... or in my case, your parents are. Pretty much the entirety of my family lives in Louisville (aka, DERBY CENTRAL) so you can only imagine my excitement for Saturday. I've never been to the Derby (definitely on my bucket list... I want a FANCY HAT by god) but always catch it on TV. I don't think my friends really get it but I make/force them to watch anyway.

5. I <3 Instagram. That's all.

Have a great, safe, active, relaxing.... FUN (!) weekend!
